While actor Yoo Ah In is being investigated by the police for allegedly using four types of drugs, the release of his next works has been temporarily put on hold.
While it was previously reported that the actor has already been replaced in his role in season 2 of Netflix's 'Hellbound', on March 27 KST, a Netflix official announced, "We have decided to temporarily postpone the release of the films 'The Match' and 'Goodbye Earth'."
Netflix added, "After discussing with the production team, we decided to temporarily postpone the releases. The specific release schedule will be announced again as soon as it is confirmed."
Based on the Japanese novel, 'Goodbye Earth' (also called 'The Fool at the End of the World') has completed all filming and was in process of post-production work. 'Goodbye Earth' was originally scheduled to be released in the fourth quarter.
The movie 'The Match' tells the story of the unavoidable match between two Go legends, Jo Hoon Hyeon (Lee Byung Hun) and Lee Chang Ho (Yoo Ah In), and was originally planned to be released in the second quarter.
Makes sense and is probably for the better. Companies obviously don't want to suffer because of his wrongdoings, so... holding off for now, postponing everything until his case has been concluded (in whichever outcome) and then making a final decision (whether to release these projects or not) is the better option right now.
