On March 3, a 37-year-old woman was accused of stabbing three people on the subway after allegedly being called an "Ahjumma," or a middle-aged woman.
At around 5:44 PM on this day, the woman is accused of stabbing 'B' (female, age 69) in the thigh with a weapon on a train running near Jukjeon Station in Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province. 'The woman is also accused of stabbing 'C' (a woman in her 60s) and 'D' (a man in his 50s) while causing a commotion on the train.
During the police investigation, the perpetrator stated, "I stabbed B because I was in a bad mood after B said 'Ahjumma, turn down the volume of your phone," revealing she became enraged when she was referred to as an 'ahjumma.'
However, on March 7, 'B' refuted the perpetrator's claims and explained that she had not even said a word to the 37-year-old woman at that time. Victim 'B's family explained, "My mother did not say a word to the perpetrator, but she suddenly stabbed an innocent person with a weapon."
According to the victim's family, 'B' was on the subway on the Suin Bundang line to meet her husband, who was about to leave work. 'B' claimed she just watched YouTube after getting on the train, and that is when the perpetrator began creating a commotion.
As a crowd of people came rushing, 'B' fell over, and the perpetrator went on to stab 'B' in the thigh. 'B' was severely injured when the stab pierced her blood vessels and muscles, requiring her to have surgery. 'C' is reported to have sustained a cut of 3-10 cm (1.2 to 4 inches) on her face, while 'D' suffered a 15 cm (5.9 inches) cut on his face.
'B's family revealed that the victim is in great sorrow because many people are misunderstanding that she had gotten into an argument with the perpetrator. But 'B' has claimed that she was just an innocent bystander who did not come into any contact with the perpetrator before the attack.
I hope to never run into these kind of peole.
