Jin is known to be a celebrity that aims to spread a good influence around the world. He is already a member of the UNICEF Honors club, encourages fans to do their part in protecting the environment, and always shares thoughtful and wise words. It is said that Jin got this kind of personality from his parents, especially his dad. He was encouraging his young son to be someone who spreads a positive influence. They were doing charity work together as well.

However, only a few people know the behind story of Jin's family dog named Jjangu. You can see him in the teaser video for Jin's single "The Astronaut." The dog passed away in 2017, and it deeply traumatized Jin. He dedicated a song to his animal partners in life, including Jjangu, back in 2020 - "Tonight." 

So, a few years ago, Jin shared that the dog his family owns was actually adopted. The story of Jjangu is sad because there's a high chance that he was saved from an abusive household. Jin's family met Jjangu as a very sick abandoned dog. However, they managed to rescue and heal him. Jjangu became a part of Jin's family for many more years. 

Animals aren't just pets for Jin, but his friends and partners in life. He cherished his sugar gliders and the family dog so much that overcoming their death was a very difficult process for him. That's why they are included even in the content of his solo debut as companions in his journey through space. This year, Jin made a donation to the organization that saves beagles that became victims of lab testing. He also donates to pet shelters. Jin has a big heart!
