Various media outlets have reported that tickets to the upcoming 'Street Man Fighter on the Stage' concert tour, kicking off in Seoul from November 5-6, have been selling poorly.
The concert tour, which brings the eight teams of Mnet's dance crew survival program 'Street Man Fighter' to the stage, will stop in cities including Seoul, Gangneung, Daejeon, Gwangju, Busan, Changwon, Incheon, and Suwon from November through December. Tickets for the first half of the tour went on sale on October 12, followed by the second half on October 13.
However, unlike the 'Street Woman Fighter' concert tour which took place after the end of the show last year, which sold out approximately a minute after tickets opened, there are still many tickets left for the 'Street Man Fighter' tour.
As of October 19, there are 1,976 seats left for day 1 in Seoul and 2,506 tickets left for day 2. Furthermore, as day 2 in Seoul will also be broadcast online via TVING, it seems that many viewers may have chosen the online option over the in-person show. Several other regions also have 1,000~2,000 seats still available.
In part, the poor ticket sales can be attributed to the shift to a venue twice as large as the venue used during the 'Street Woman Fighter' concert in Seoul. On the other hand, 'Street Man Fighter' has become embroiled in several controversies after its premiere, including a controversy over one contestant's allegedly mocking portrayal of NewJeans's "Hype Boy" as well as a plagiarism controversy surrounding the popular "New Thing" choreography challenge.
Some netizens commented in response,
"What kind of confidence made them think they could fill a venue twice..."
"Wow, what a waste of a perfectly good performing venue."
"What a flop."
"The Seoul venue's capacity is 8,000 kekekekekeke. That venue is too big for them."
"If you mock others, karma bites you back."
"Oh they haven't cancelled this yet? There are literally so many seats left in all of the other cities."
"Guess all of their 'respecting' dancer comrades can fill up those seats for them."
"We have zero interest in them."
"Don't treat the public like fools. If it's not worth going to, then no one is gonna go."
"And to think that people were devastated because they couldn't go see the 'Street Woman Fighter' concerts."
"Guess all of their respecting dancer comrades can fill up their seats for them" I'm cackling 🤣
