BTS Creative director and dance teacher Son Sung Deuk has praised Jungkook many times for his personality and talents. He has once again shed light on how he ended up with Jungkook to go to the United States for training in a recent interview.

Son shared that there was a plan to make hip-hop-based music for BTS, so the chairman thought it was essential to experience America’s hip-hop culture firsthand as hip-hop was born in the U.S. PD gave him the budget and asked him to pick the trainee with the most potential to go to the U.S, and he chose Jungkook.

He really handed me the budget and requested me to take the trainee with the highest potential with me to the United States. So I was thinking about who to take, then decided to pick Jungkook to go to the States.

Jungkook’s potential exploded further after that training as he used to be very shy before his debut, but after coming back to Korea from the U.S, he started killing his dancing, increasing his talents very fast.

Son also shared that it's because of Jungkook that HYBE trainees will normally go to America for training. He set a successful example. That's why it's become a training culture for HYBE.
