The entertainment industry seemed to have entered the age of 'BL' or 'Boy Love,' which has been considered a genre only a few have enjoyed in the past. Now, the genre is gaining more attention from the public, and the industry is moving to produce more BL content such as dramas and entertainment shows.
Back in February, 'Semantic Error' broke expectations and emerged as one of the most popular dramas. Breaking the prejudice that BL is considered a subgenre that only a few enthusiasts enjoy, 'Semantic Error' gained popularity by portraying the love between two men in a fresh and beautiful way.
In March, Seezn released the sitcom 'Oh! Boarding House,' which depicts the romance between Seol Won, the owner of the boarding house, and the boarders. The sitcom gained much attention and was even invited to the 26th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.
Likewise, BL content seems to be gradually moving to gain the limelight in the industry. There has been more production of drama in the BL genres that are based on popular BL content.
An entertainment agency official stated, "Recently, there has been an influx of BL genre drama casting offers for male idols in the industry. There are so many new scripts and plans for the production of BL content. At first, executives at the agency were conservative but the prejudice against BL content seems to be gradually disappearing with the popularity of the genre."
BL content is even appearing in the variety show industry as there are reality shows which will show the romance between men. Wavve will be presenting the first dating reality show for men where honest and bold men will move into a house together in hopes of finding love.
Teasers for 'Man's Romance' has already been released and have gained much attention as viewers are already expressing their excitement for the new variety show.
Wavve is also planning to launch a program in which individuals of different sexual orientations will set out to find love. Wavve introduced 'Mary Queer,' where individuals of different backgrounds will set out to find true love.
In this way, the entertainment industry is setting out to welcome the era of 'BL' and coming to accept the various forms of romance, overcoming prejudice through content that is full of diversity.

So let me put this straight. Some people here are offended because some BL actors don't support LGBT. Some others here are offended because there would be prejudices against BL dramas. And some others are offended because BL dramas wouldn't portray gay romance the right way...
Wow, guys! Are you not exhausted being offended all the time about anything? Can't you just accept that some people love these BL dramas and that some others are not interested in BL? Can't you use your energy another way than criticizing and people who don't think like you? It doesn't mean they are bad people, you know. They are just... people. Like you. Even if they think differently.
