Former TVXQ member and JYJ's Junsu gathered attention with his words of support for TVXQ's Yunho and Changmin.
On July 8, one netizen created a post on an online community forum titled, "Xia Junsu mentioned TVXQ's U-Know Yunho and Choi Kang Changmin at his concert". Here, the netizen included a recording posted by a fan who had attended Junsu's recent concert in Japan. Here, Junsu introduces his next song by saying, "In particular, the last song is a TVXQ song so while singing it, I feel a lot of complicated feelings and think of various memories." Junsu then became surprised when he asked the audience members to raise their hands if they were his fans since his TVXQ days, and nearly two-thirds of the audience raised their hands. After a period of figuring out how to word his sentences, Junsu then stated, "Please continue to support Yunho and Changmin."
Netizens commented:
"It's not like he talked about them in a negative light...the actual people involved are okay with it so it's useless for third parties to fight. I think [the disbandment] happened when I was in elementary school, so that means more than 10 years passed..."
"Japan still has a lot of fans who love the group as 5 members, so it's likely he said that as lip service."
"It's cool how fans are still fighting even to this day."
"Their songs were really legendary."
"I'm tearing up for some reason."
"Korea and Japan are a little different."
"He is allowed to say at least that much...he didn't even badmouth them or anything."
"Seeing how Yunho and Jaejoong previously met in the military, it doesn't look like they have a bad relationship.
I've never thought they were against each other, just that JYJ wanted to pursue solo activities and SM wouldn't let them. YC were fine with remaining as group artists. There was probably the sting of feelings of betrayal on both sides, but that can fade with time if the feelings aren't fed.
