On June 16, streaming platform Wavve announced two new reality programs coming to the platform this year.
In fact, the streaming platform will be launching two of South Korea's first ever queer couple/dating reality shows. The first is titled 'Marry Queer' and features the stories of queer couples on their "coming out" journeys, whether it be revealing their "unconventional" relationships to families, friends, or the world.
The second is titled 'Man's Romance', a dating reality series where single, bisexual men reside together in a share house and get to know one another.
Couple/dating reality programs have been some of the most popular variety formats in Korea in the past year, and Wavve has decided to diversify the pool of existing such shows with its newest programs, representing LGBTQ+ members of society.
'Marry Queer' and 'Man's Romance' will air some time in July, according to Wavve.
I am very worried for the health and safety of the contestants. I hope the producers and whomever don't treat this as a joke or do things that are offensive. I hope this is being done for genuine reasons.
