In his recent interview with Billboard, singer-songwriter PSY explained the story behind his meeting with Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS. 

PSY posted photos of him and V together on his Instagram, which went viral back in September 2020. No backstory was given along with the pics, and that led people to make a lot of theories about their meeting. Now we have an answer.

PSY explained that Taehyung came to discuss a variety of issues that he and the other BTS members were experiencing & struggling with as their global success skyrocketed. 

"One time [V] was with someone who was a good friend of mine and passed the phone so we talked. He said, 'I really wanted to ask you a lot of things,' so I was like, 'Hey, come to my office sometime, let's talk. We talked a lot about things like when they do something good & aren't satisfied with something; they barely have anyone to ask about that."   - PSY

PSY experienced global fame early on after his song "Gangnam Style" became a global viral hit. Taehyung felt he was the right person to ask for advice for the new challenges he was facing brought on by their success.

Being the sociable person he is, Taehyung took the initiative and approached PSY for guidance, and the two have been friends since then.
