Earlier today, there were reports that Kyungbock High School posted an apology after there were online posts showing the girl group Aespa being poorly treated at the latest campus performance.
On April 2, there were videos and photos of Aespa attending the Kyungbock High School event. In the photos, the girl group members were seen being surrounded by the boys from the all-male high school to the point where they couldn't move. There were also videos of male students running up to the stage to take selfies with the members without prior permission or discussion.
Additionally, there were social media posts where some students made inappropriate, suggestive comments about the members. One netizen who is speculated to be one of the students at the Kyungbock High School wrote, "I did everything except touch them."
In response, the Kyungbock High School administration posted an apology bt is causing more outrage as the high school explained that the individuals who treated the members poorly were not from the high school but were several outsiders who came to visit the event.
The apology letter has been taken down by the high school but had already been shared online and brought anger from fans.
Netizens commented, "They're trash," "The school didn't think to find the students who acted out but blamed it on outsiders," "All the contents were not mentioned here but there were male students who shouted out sexual things and ran up on stage," "One student said 'I did everything except touch them,' if that's not sexual harassment, then what is?" "They disgust me," "The students should write handwritten apology letters too," "What do they mean outsiders? It's so clear that it was their high school students who posted the videos and photos," "This is so shameful," "Are these students going to get doxed?" and "These things were posted through the students' accounts so what do they mean outsiders?"
It doesn't make any difference whether they were students or outsiders. The security sucked and somebody needs to be held accountable.
