"Epiphany" (Jin Version) was one of the most anticipated songs to be included in the new album. Ever since Jin had hinted at working on the demo of his unreleased version, fans have been living in the dreams of getting to hear that masterpiece. The only sad moment is that the songs on CD3 of "Proof" are going to be released only on CD.
As Jin described on his live show in 2018, the original "Epiphany" was more into Brit Pop (Alternative Rock), which is one of the artist's favorite music genres. The artist unveiled a bit of his music-making process: Jin writes about 30 melodies every day and selects a few he likes the most. He also confessed to being quite disappointed when Bang PD replaced Jin's original "Epiphany" with another version.
"The original melody I made is more gloomy melody but lyric is hopeful. It had bright and relaxed melody with lyrics telling 'I love you'. But after we made comparison with Bang PD's melody, his was more fit to the lyric and vibe of the song so we chose it. Working on my solo song 'Epiphany', I've written a lot of melodies. Until 3 days before recording the song, it was confirmed my melody was going to be used, but then Bang PD wrote me a really good melody so it changed to his. I think I put in lot of things I wanted to do. I just told the company details of what music I want to do, and company just organized it for me. Now company tries to reflect our opinions a lot, that part really got better compared previous days."

One way or another, "Epiphany," we all know, became a legendary song, and Jin's performance of it was on another level of professionalism and talent. It is a certified K-pop hit!
Just a reminder that Jin is the ONLY K-Idol who got a standing ovation from J-ARMYs twice - once for Awake and once for Epiphany performance. This is the highest form of respect an artist can receive in Japan.
For "Epiphany" (Jin Demo Version), Jin was working with his friend - producer Slow Rabbit. He has already been working with him on such songs as "Tonight," "Moon," "Awake," "Yours" (vocal arrangement). The singer says that their styles and approach to music match nicely. In his Weverse post, Jin mentioned that his version of "Epiphany" is a brand new song!
Besides the long-awaited "Epiphany" (Jin Demo Version), CD2 of "Proof" is going to include another famous song by Jin - "Moon." It is known as the 5th best boyband song in history ("Rolling Stone" magazine) and the 7th best song of 2020 (the Top20 of Rob Sheffield).
