On the new episode of KBS Joy's entertainment program 'Ask Anything', a married couple appeared as guests seeking out advice from Lee Soo Geun and Seo Jang Hoon.
In the new episode, Lee Soo Geun was able to give honest advice to a married couple that was suffering from people's criticism because of their large age gap. The husband is 66 years old while the wife is 35 years old and they have a 7-month-old son.
The wife explained, "I became sick while working at my husband's hair shop, my husband took care of me. When I got better, he gave me 4 credit cards and helped me take care of myself. Luckily things worked out."
However, the married couple was having a hard time because of people's opinions and criticisms. The wife elaborated, "When we go out together, people ask me if my husband is my grandfather."
Lee Soo Geun, who is also married to his wife who is 11 years younger, was able to give a piece of advice from experience. Lee Soo Geun is 48 years old while his wife is 37 and they have two sons aged 15 and 13. Lee Soo Geun explained, "When I go outside with my wife too, people would say to me 'wow, your daughter grew a lot.' I just laugh it off. There is no reason to explain yourself to them."
He continued to comfort the married couple saying, "You guys didn't commit any sin." Seo Jang Hoon also added, "I believe you guys made the choice already expecting this to happen, so just bravely accept it."

I'm of the opinion that the specific ages of the people involved matters more than the age gap itself. An 18 y.o. dating a 14 y.o. is creepy and problematic, but a 37 year old woman is a more than fully grown adult, so it's not nearly as weird if she decides to date someone 30+ years older than her. The fact that he was her boss when they started dating isn't great, but the ages themselves aren't a problem imo.
