As summer hits, many groups are preparing for their comebacks, meaning new albums, new concepts, and best of all, new tracks!
As K-Pop has exploded across the globe, we're now seeing more groups participate in collaboration tracks with various artists, from PSY's recent 9th album release containing features from artists such as BTS' Suga, Jessi, Zico, and more to even Ed Sheeran collaborating with Sunmi and Jessi for a new rendition of "Bad Habits." It is always great to see talented musicians come together to do what they love and even greater when the collaboration is done amongst your favorite artists. A fan can wish can't we? So here are six collaborations we wish to see!
1. BTS' RM and CL: Both charismatic on and off the stage, these two musical artists are both well known for creating their own music, and on top of that, these two are one of the most talented rappers around. Also, their unique voices of being able to pull off both vocals and rapping would make an interesting set of tunes.
2. Outsider and BTS' Suga: Now this is a collab that would "spitfire." Outsider takes the crown as the fastest Korean rapper around, spitting around 13 syllables per second combine that together with BTS' Suga set of abilities to rap ten syllables in a second; that would be one dope track.
3. Kim Jun Su and Kim Sung Gyu: Gathering together two of the best vocalists in K-Pop, what makes this collaboration wishlist so unique is that both Kim Jun Su and Kim Sung Gyu have voices that are falsettos, which makes listening to their voices a harmonic experience. The perfect ballad song could showcase their range of voices like none other.
4. (G)-IDLE Yuqi and Big Bang's Tae Yang: Oftentimes, you'll see the female singers take on the higher notes and the males take on the deeper notes. But not this duo! As Yuqi is known for having a deeper voice and Tae Yang is known for his high notes, mixing the two voices would be so melodic to listen to.
5. Punch and Lyn: Take two of the queens of OST, and there is no turning back, Punch and Lyn both have such sweet voices that are soothing to the ears; it is no wonder that any OST they do sing ends up topping the charts. But imagine, hearing both their voices in one OST! It'd be a collaboration like no other.
Which of these collaborations would you want to see? And what are some collaborations on your wishlist? Let us know!
Honestly, we have been pretty deprived of collaborations and even interactions between idols. I don't even need a full on release, even if it's a collab on stage or variety show regulars (like the 2nd gen days) would be awesome. I'm hoping to see Jennie, Jisoo, Karina, Ningning, Seulgi, Wendy, Yeji, Somi, Chungha, Sejong in a variety show like Invincible Youth or an on-stage collab on a year-end show
