It has been more than six years since New Journey to the West was first broadcasted, initially with the concept of a travel show that united former 2 Days 1 Night Season 1 members, SECHSKIES' leader Eun Ji Won, Lee Seung Gi, Lee Soo Geun, and Kang Ho Dong alongside the show's primary producer, Na Young Seok. 

After the successful response from the show's first season, other members are eventually added into the mix, actor Ahn Jae Hyun joining for Season 2, Super Junior's Kyuhyun and WINNER's Mino simultaneously joining for the show's Season 3, and Block B's P.O. joining lastly during Season 5. 

From the show's main format and goal of gathering the seven mystical dragon balls and the side format of the members' fight for getting characters with easier or lesser embarrassing costumes, the show has served laughter not only among Korean audiences but also internationally. 

Because of the steady rise in its popularity and high demand among audiences, the show has currently aired eight seasons and a whole list of equally famous spin-offs, Kang's Kitchen and Spring Camp, to name a few.

To the avid NJTTW viewers who miss the show and to the interested people who are pondering if the show's worth the watch, here are some of the most iconic moments of New Journey to the West. 

1. Seung Gi's Message

Before Seung Gi officially leaves the show for his military enlistment, he made sure to leave a mark! Broadcasted in Season 2, he gave a message for the members and then new member Jae Hyun who all expected the message to be sentimental but ended with a twist!

Of course, he didn't forget to leave a message for the show's main producer, fondly called Na PD, and a small message of warning and encouragement to Jae Hyun.

2. The UFO Debate

In Season 2, the members have to win in their assigned game, and Eun Ji Won was tasked to win the debate against Yang Jeong Woo PD, who specializes in space and graduated from Seoul National University. The topic? UFO and aliens, which is a topic Ji Won was very interested in even during his days in 2D1N. Watch Ji Won use his "crazy" logic to win against the PD and take the crown during the debate of the century. 

3. Zombie Game
Before students among All Of Us Are Dead started fighting zombies, NJTTW members faced the greatest and probably the most chaotic game to have ever existed: Zombie Game. With the members not knowing who among them is the zombie, they have to navigate through the darkness and be sure to make it out alive without being LITERALLY bitten by the assigned zombie.

The Zombie Game brought a lot of laughter among audiences, a lot of physical scuffling among the members, bite marks and screams, and the birth of the legendary "staff imnida."

4. Song Finger
This very scene must've and should've taught Na PD a lesson on bets and promises, with the one and only Song Min Ho claiming the title of Song Finger or Song Garak- because of his lucky finger and great sense of balance!

The scene brings a lot of emotions to the viewers, ranging from laughter, amazement, and probably slight sympathy towards Na PD, who almost uprooted tvN's funds!

5. Cone Hat Operations

One of NJTTW's original games is the Cone Hat Operations, and the game alone has been iconic on its own and brought laughter through the seasons. It also gave birth to some legendary nicknames, Cho Pierro, to name an example!

And if you think kicking the ball after spinning multiple times is funny enough, NJTTW brings the game into a top-notch slapstick farm by making the members wear the cone hat.

6. Shout in Silence

The Shout in Silence has been a mainstay in NJTTW and other variety shows, but P.O. and Mino playing the game together gave the show a lot of legendary scenes on its own. Some of the words you'll hear automatically are "Uruguay," "Manchester United," and more!

The game has also caused P.O. and Mino to lose their temper and gave birth to Mino's legendary meme, "Don't be mad!"

7. The Phone Incident

All NJTTW fans know the line: "Then, it's all my fault for being born." The utter panic and chaos this scene has brought originate from taking a celebratory selca for coming home easily, rippling bigger, and resulting in an opportunity found by Na PD to continue the shoot! 

8. The Fastest Failure

NJTTW is known for its almost impossible and unexplainable morning missions as if they were assigned to you, so you were bound to fail. But in the whole duration of NJTTW, Ho Dong takes the crown as the quickest person to fail the morning mission because of ice cream!

9. Strawberry Game

Strawberry Games are bound to result in laughter because of the hard nature of the game and sometimes because of its twists and turns. NJTTW played it frequently for missions, but the battle between Kyuhyun's Pork Belly and Soo Geun's Hand-Rolled Beef takes the cake! Watch Soo Geun literally malfunction after breaking the beats into 16.

10. Nagging

Nagging, a song by IU and Lim Seul Ong, is known for its high notes that unbelievably go high in every verse. The challenge was taken by the best friends, P.O. and Mino, who took the matter into their hands and tried to perform Nagging. Watch the performance that almost made everyone sing the line "Let's stop!"

Spoiler Alert! Their song performance won the highest score for the technical score!

BONUS: The Reunion

NJTTW has always brought laughter among audiences without fail, popularity extending to other entertainers and celebrities as well. But one of the most iconic scenes one of its spin-offs has brought is the reunion of Jae Hyun with the members after his long hiatus due to a personal problem.

The Young Boys drove to the Old Boys camping ground and surprised them with Jae Hyun's comeback, bringing tears not only to the members but to the viewers as well. After long years of being together, they have been close-knit and have a relationship almost similar to those of families.
