News of the sudden marriage between veteran singer/DJ Koo Jun Yup and top Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu is continuing to stir up media outlets both in South Korea and Taiwan.

Soon after both Koo Jun Yup and Barbie Hsu confirmed their marriage announcement via SNS, some rumors claimed that Barbie Hsu was currently facing disagreement from her family. 

However, on March 8, one Taiwanese media outlet denied these rumors and stated, "Barbie Hsu's mother was not angry about the news. Both Hsu's mother and her two children were aware of the fact that she would be marrying Koo. The family is very happy about the news." The media outlet added on, "Koo Jun Yup and Barbie Hsu plan to discuss details surrounding their marriage, such as if the family will live in Korea or Taiwan, once he arrives in Taiwan safely."

According to various Korean media outlet reports on March 9, Koo Jun Yup is in fact scheduled to fly out to Taiwan later today. He plans on meeting up with Hsu and her family after taking part in all required quarantine measures. 

Meanwhile, past photos of Koo Jun Yup and Barbie Hsu from when they dated approximately 20 years ago have been revealed online, garnering attention. Koo Jun Yup and Barbie Hsu first met in 1998 at Taiwanese singer Tarcy Su's concert, and began dating shortly afterward. The long-distance relationship continued for approximately a year before the couple broke apart. 20 years later, Koo Jun Yup decided to contact Barbie Hsu again after hearing news of her divorce with her first husband.
