Jimin is the perfect role model for any young person. He has been a high achiever both during his school years and over the course of his career path. As of now, Jimin is the only Korean artist with five different laurels of high significance and prestige.
Three of them have come about due to the impact of BTS, where the group has been recognized for the huge influence made in matters of country relations and promotion of cultural exchange between South Korea and the rest of the world. These awards include the group's appointment as Special Presidential Envoy for Culture and Future Generations by the President of The Republic of South Korea, Moon Jae-In, the reception of the Van Fleet Awardof recognition for the group's outstanding contributions towards the promotion of US-Korea relations, and the Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit for the promotion of South Korean culture and development [read here]. Jimin received all these three awards being a member of BTS.
The fourth one received by him individually is the special Plaque of Appreciation given by the Kim Baek Bong Korean Fan Dance Conservation Society for his solo Fan Dance for BTS' 'IDOL' performance at the Melon Music Awards 2018, which also saw the song win the 'Legendary performance' award at the 2021 MMAs [refer here]. This makes him the only musician in the history of South Korea to receive all three national awards, and the list keeps growing.
Reports emerging on the 9th of February reveal that Jimin has added yet another achievement to his name. The Busan Arts High School where Jimin attended held its graduation ceremony on this day. One fan reported that Jimin had received an Honorary Diploma from the school during this graduation ceremony. Once again, he becomes the only member who has been recognized with such merit from his former high school.
Jimin had entered the Busan Arts High School at the top of his class and was a model student all through his years at the institution. He majored in modern dance, learning a whole new field of dance that required much more dedication, and he mastered it [read more here] while still maintaining perfect scores in his academics, so much so that Korean media has made it a habit to highlight his words whenever he talks about school matters to current students [read here]. Moreover, he was class president for nine years and involved himself in various physical activities like Korean, Chinese, and Japanese martial arts, and school club activities like soccer, tennis, billiards, robotics, and book clubs, to mention a few [refer here]. This implies that he had even more responsibilities to attend to, but he managed his time and balanced everything very well, and delivered perfectly in everything he did.
Apart from such a sparkling record, Jimin has also consistently supported the school through the years and has represented his school exceptionally well to the outside world, which could explain why the school holds him in such high regard and awarded him this honorary diploma. The teachers and the school's director all speak very highly of him as well.
Of note is that Jimin had also previously received the 'President's Award' from the Global Cyber University, along with Taehyung, during their graduation in 2020. They are the only two members of BTS who have received such a laurel from their university.
With the President's Award and the Honorary Diploma from his high school, Jimin now becomes the only Korean artist with five significant accolades to his name, three being national awards.
As the jubilation continued among fans, various hashtags and keywords entered Twitter trends as they sent their messages of congratulations and expressed their pride in him. 'CONGRATULATIONS JIMIN' entered worldwide trends and peaked at #9.
Jimin is never short of achievements and has made himself a legend that can never and will never be forgotten. He is still young, and with his zeal, talent, and discipline, it is more than a guarantee that he will receive even more awards and recognition in the coming years.
Congrats to Jimin.
