BTS's Jimin is a singer whose vocal tone and color are unique and captivating. Apart from fans, experts and fellow idols have often commended his vocals which are often described as beautiful, gentle, and passionate yet powerful and which cannot easily be replicated. 

On the 26th of October, Jimin's vocals got a new wave of affection when a popular Japanese opera singer revealed her honest opinion of Jimin's singing voice in an interview for Japanese Fashion Magazine FRaU. The opera singer complimented Jimin's voice calling it attractive and very rare. She added that his falsetto and head voice have a unique tone that could only be produced by jimin.

Jimin's voice was analyzed as being mysterious with a unique and beautiful tone that alternates between an adult and young boy's tone when there is a change of notes, its ability to sound like a female voice was further evaluated as rare and also very attractive.

The singer hinted at the vocal techniques that Jimin usually employs when singing. First is the vocal fry, the voice produced when the vocal cords are closed. She said that Jimin's application of vocal fry was similar to that of legendary pop singer Britney Spears' era. While vocal fry is one of the exercises used by vocalists when practicing the feeling of closing the vocal cords, Jimin was said to use this technique mainly at the beginning of songs.

The next technique is growling, which she mentioned as thrilling and a testament to the duality of his voice. It often sounds feminine but also turns masculine when he growls. Above all, Jimin's high notes were assessed as naturally of a higher range for any adult male. The singer used the case of 'Let me know,' where he can go as high as an A5 which is three notes higher than Jungkook's F5 in 'ON,' which is also a high note.

Jimin, who never got any professional vocal training, was highly praised for his diligence which has contributed to the smoothness of his voice.
