Member of Girls’ Generation and actress Kwon Yuri delivered a powerful performance in the stage play 'The Wasp', captivating audiences with her intense acting.
On March 8 KST, Yuri met theatergoers in the opening performance of 'The Wasp', where she plays Carla, a woman who unexpectedly reunites with Heather, a former classmate she once bullied during their school days. The encounter leads to a shocking proposal that drives the story’s tense psychological conflict.
To portray the character convincingly, Yuri transformed both physically and emotionally, depicting a woman struggling through daily life while pregnant with her fifth child. Her performance vividly expressed Carla’s complex emotions including anger, anxiety, and confusion, bringing the character’s raw instincts to life on stage.
The production is especially notable for being a two actor play, where only two performers lead the entire story. Through this format, Yuri delivered strong stage presence and intense psychological exchanges, filling the theater with energy and maintaining tension throughout the 90 minute running time.
