On September 20, the members of BTS attended the 76th United Nations General Assembly in New York, where they each delivered a speech in front of different world leaders and heads of state. This was their third UN speech, but the first as the newly appointed 'Special Presidential Envoys for Future Generations and Culture.'

Prior to their departure, the group had asked for #YouthStories from their fans, being the representatives of the youth around the world, intending to relay these stories to the rest of the world. As such, their speech was centered around their daily lives and experiences and those of their fans around the world.

In particular, Jimin spoke of the challenges that the youth have faced in the past two years since the beginning of the pandemic. He mentions that youth is a period in a person's life where there is a lot of discovery and finding footing in the world and in life. Being required to stay still as the pandemic has dictated to us is very difficult for them, and therefore it has been challenging. However, he also speaks about hope for the future, referencing the stories they had received from youth all over the world, where they appeared to be taking on new challenges and finding new ways to do things, rather than being 'lost' as some people may have been describing them. The youth also appeared to be maintaining good health, which also shows they are looking forward to the future, and they want to be in good health for that. 

Jimin delivered this speech in such a raw and relatable manner, immediately touching the hearts of the audience, within the hall and those viewing online. He admitted to having felt nervous, which everyone related to completely, given the stage and the expectations on him. He, however, delivered the speech perfectly and passed the message across, and fans could not have been more proud of his first performance as a young diplomat. They showered him with praises and, of course, sought to mirror Jimin's kindness that he is widely known for. Jimin not only brings comfort, peace, and healing to anyone who listens to his words, but he also tries to alleviate any form of suffering through donations to the vulnerable populations.

To be kind like Jimin, fans immediately started to donate to the different bodies under the United Nations, working towards various causes. On that same day, September 20, Jimin's fanbase in Malaysia, along with another fan of Jimin @sCasmin13s, reported that they had donated to UNICEF Malaysia, towards the 'Digital Learning Teachers Community,' under Jimin's name. This community aims to empower teachers to become effective remote learning educators, with digital platforms. They specifically chose this cause since online learning is now the new norm for purposes of social distancing, and Jimin himself is a front advocator for education, having donated several times toward education matters for the underprivileged students in his hometown, Busan.

Another Jimin fanbase JIMIN UNITED, also followed suit and donated to UNICEF Canada under Jimin's name. The donation this time was made towards the aid of vulnerable children all around the globe. Jimin is known to have a special place for children in his heart, always donating towards the betterment of their future and their health.

Melissa Fleming, the UN Global Communications leader, and Dr. Tedros, the WHO Director-General, have previously referenced Jimin's words on how adults should help children get through the pandemic since they are made to follow the rules without understanding the situation. In addition, Jimin recently donated towards a polio eradication program, once again showing his deep care for children.

Another donation was made to the World Food Program by @sCasmin13s under Jimin's name on the same day, September 20. This UN program strives to help people suffering with food insecurities around the globe, to help give hope for tomorrow. Malnourishment and hunger can significantly deter any productivity, and can especially be detrimental for young ones. The WFP, as the largest humanitarian aid organization globally, is also the largest provider of school meals to children in need.

The same fan @sCasmin13s again donated to the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, under Jimin's name. This body of the UN is dedicated to saving lives and protecting the rights of refugees, forcibly displaced communities, and stateless people, and to assist in their voluntary repatriation, local integration, or resettlement to a different country.

Jimin is an excellent role model for every young person around the globe. His influence spreads love, joy, and kindness in society, which are essential for people to go through the struggles of life. He is the shining light that everyone needs in life.

Having made such a touching speech, fans back home in South Korea already started to miss him, even though he had been in New York for just two days. They started asking him to go back home quickly. He is treasured a lot for his good heart.
