On July 31, during the '2020 Tokyo Olympics' Women's Volleyball match between South Korea and Japan, Super Junior's iconic song, "Mr. Simple" was played.
Right around the time this music played, the "Mr. Simple" music video hit 200 million views on YouTube.
Ten years later, "Mr. Simple" still continues to maintain its popularity among fans all around the world.
Still catchy after all these years. I remember before even knowing what Kpop was I randomly heard this song on YouTube and played it for all my friends. Was in college at the time and we used to host some parties. BF of my roomie was an amateur DJ and he sampled it into our mix- it ALWAYS got a good reaction. Even though none of us were of asian descent never mind speaking the language, once you have a couple of drinks in you- there's no denying that beat. Thinking back now, nothing funnier than the memory of seeing a bunch of American frat boys fist pumping the 'alright' part and shuffling to the 'blow your mind' portion 😂
