CIX called off its merch sales after its designs were suspected of plagiarism as netizens believed those were very similar to anime 'The Prince of Tennis'.

On July 26th KST, C9 Entertainment issued an official statement canceling the group's merch sales. The label wrote, "We have identified that the design of a particular animation's costume is quite similar to that of the concept photo, and we fully agree that selling commemorative goods in this situation would be ethically problematic, apart from legal issues. Therefore, we would like to cancel the entire sale of the commemorative goods."

Not the Prince of Tennis lmao

It's popular as a web series, manga and movie.

Why would they copy it so blatantly? Did they expect people not to recognize it or something

A lazy concept designer who thought "it's been a little over 15 yeras since the last chapter of Prince Of Tennis aired, who would notice we 'borrowed' the style?"

Well, nowadays, people always notice, even when there's nothing wrong they always find something to complain about.
