Jung Joon Young's ex-girlfriend 'A' who claims he illegally filmed her has written a public petition to the Blue House.
'A' recently spoke out since she first filed a police report against the singer for allegedly filming her during sex acts without her knowledge in September of 2016. She explained she dropped the charges as she was afraid she would be accused of "making false accusations and ruin [her] life."
After making the post on YouTube, 'A' has now officially submitted her concern through the National Petition of South Korea, which communicates citizen concerns to the Blue House and President Moon Jae In. She expressed there needed to be social and institutional changes to effectively protect victims of sex crimes and called for disciplinary action against YouTubers who insult alleged victims, disciplinary action against broadcast reporters who caused secondary harm to victims, the deactivation of comments for sex crime news on Internet portal sites, stricter laws to punish sex crimes, and pathways to civil lawsuits.
'A' wrote, "Through your interest and the legislative support of experts, we desperately want the National Assembly to quickly enact and implement a bill on the privacy of sex crime victims and secondary harm against them. The government should compensate for institutional deficiencies and create new legislation, so there will be no victims who suffer secondary abuse following sex crimes again."
In related news, Jung Joon Young has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for group sexual assault, while Choi Jonghun was sentenced to 2.5 years.
