On April 25, 2020, BTS's Suga went on V live as "Syub D" again, where he
replied to fans' questions and concerns they had tweeted using the
hashtag: #슙디에게물어봐.
"Syup
D" is from when BTS participated in Kkul FM 06.13. Kkul FM was a radio-like series
in which BTS did yearly for their anniversary FESTA and Suga was the main host of the show.
In the show, a fan wrote: "I gave up my dream."
And Suga's response was: "I don't know what happened but it must have
required tremendous courage. Making a bold decision to give up means
you have great courage. You've worked hard. Fighting."

💜 “I gave up on my dream” 🐱 “I don’t know what circumstances you were in, but I think you must have had tremendous courage. Giving something up decisively takes lots of courage. And, you worked hard. Fighting.”
Fans went on Twitter to express how
touching his words were for them too, praising him for being
understanding and comforting toward someone who was already hurting for
making this hard decision instead of being judgmental.
yoongi is a very understanding and accepting person and that’s one of my favorite things about him. instead of telling them that they can still fight, he respected the decision and told them they were courageous. that’s something not a lot of people could think about to say
Suga also spoke about the courage it takes to give up in
his song "Burn it ft.MAX" from his last Mixtape "D-2": "I hope you
don’t forget that giving up decisively also counts as courage."
Fans again went on Twitter to discuss how much Suga's words mean to them and how the "giving up is being weak" narrative is toxic and harmful.
we should talk about this actually yoongi also told someone on his live they were BRAVE for “giving up”. society romanticises fighting for things including relationships until they’re stuck in a unhealthy state, feeling unhappy and tells us that’s what courage is. but he gets it.
was reading yoongi’s lyrics from d-2 for the nth time and “I hope you don’t forget that giving up decisively also counts as courage” fuckin hurts each time
Suga is well-known for his wise and soothing words between the fans and comforted many by his words and lyrics. He doesn't sugar-coat, he doesn't give textbook quotes that are useless in the real world, he doesn't blame you, he says your happiness is what matters and not the norms the society has made you believe. You are not at fault in this unfair society.
In "BTS 'Beautiful'(美친) Press Conference," Suga talked about the song
"Paradise" from BTS's Love Yourself: Tear : "I told fans that dreams
aren't necessary, that being happy is enough. That's how the song was
born. The world never teaches you how to dream but it always promotes
competition. I'd like many who are tired from the competition to listen
to this song. I'd like those tired souls to find rest through paradise."
He has also discussed this issue in his own song "So far away" from his first Mixtape, "Agust D."
“The world has never let us dream, nor has it taught us how to dream. It's not your fault. Don't blame yourself. It's okay to lean back when you're tired. If someone's tired be their pillar of support too. I hope our music can become your source of strength.”
What makes Suga different and comforting is that while he always encourages you to fight hard for your dream and future, he also
understands that not everything is achievable, that some stuff is out
of control. On "dear class of 2020," he said: "Take your hands off of
what you can't control, and get your hands on what you can change".
These words are remarkable because human life isn't long enough to be wasted on impossibles. For you to be happy, sometimes you need to learn
when and how to let go and use what is in your reach to be finally
happy."
Suga has also expressed his desire to get a counseling license for the sole reason of helping people.
you ever think about the reason why yoongi is studying psychology is so that when he sees people who struggled just like him, instead of them feeling like they’re all alone (like yoongi did), yoongi wants to help them.. cos he didn’t have anyone who helped him :(
Here you can read other examples of comforting words BTS's Suga has told fans:
“A slump is inevitable, there’s no one who lives without one.
what do you have to do? just keep going. don’t think about, just keep
doing what you’ve always done. some people say there’s a special way to
overcome a slump, but that’s not true. just keep going, and you’ll
improve.”

"I hope you reach everything you want in 2020.
Even if you failed, don’t be discouraged. Even if you trip and fall,
what’s important is to get up again.”
Yoongi: “Hi I’m Suga. How was 2019 to you all? I worked so hard and had a very great and happy year. 2020 is Rat year. I hope you reach everything you want in 2020. Even if you failed, don’t be discouraged. Even if you trip and fall, what’s important is to get up again.”
"Even if it turns out you didn't do too well on the
exam, there is no need to feel so defeated. It may feel like your world
is collapsing, when you don’t get the results you want, but that’s not
true, that’s not how our lives work, What’s important is you get back
up."
Yes, Suga is the epitome of comfort. I remembered crying so hard because of his song "So far away", it was so much resonated to me that time. That one lyrics that hit so hard everytime goes:

Yoongi is smart and wise. He is always honest in his words, songs. He's the first person to come to the rescue, even if you don't ask him to. I love him so much.
