“With so many people on stage, you would understand if Jimin only gave 50 percent, but he doesn’t. He beats up the dance floor every night.”
On March 22, British comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, and television host John Oliver talked about recycling’s shortcomings to end pollution in his HBO show “Last Week Tonight”. According to Rolling Stone, John Oliver explained the worsening problem of plastic pollution and how the plastics industry has misrepresented the possibilities of recycling.
John Oliver mentioned that less than nine percent of plastics actually get recycled in the United States with most of it just end up in landfills or in the ocean. In his attempt to further explain his point, John Oliver uses BTS as an example to which the plastics industry must follow. Further, in his analogy, John Oliver paid special attention to one specific member and his excellent stage presence, BTS’s main dancer and lead vocalist Park Jimin.
John Oliver said “Out of seven numbers you see in the “chasing arrows” recycling symbols, only two appear on products that can be recycled on a regular basis. That is a pretty bad ratio for a group of seven. Ideally, you’d want a little more balance like BTS – there’s not a weak link in that unbreakable chain of heartthrobs. With so many people on stage, you would understand if sometimes Jimin only gave 50 percent, but he doesn’t. He beats up the dance floor every night like he just caught it robbing his house.”
It is an interesting analogy but is very effective as it makes John Oliver's point very clear. This is another example that proves Jimin's global and unmatched popularity which extends beyond the pop industry. Jimin makes a great impression through "Jimin Effect" and it is just very impressive that he gets mentioned almost everywhere. Jimin is truly deserving to be known as the K-pop Frontman and King of K-pop.
Jimin is so talented and known stage genius, he now represents what giving more than 100% means.
