According to reporter Kim Hyojeong from Yonhap News Agency we can expect another change in South Korean music charts very soon.
Kakao's music platform Melon is launching a new service 'Rising31' that introduces songs that are receiving good responses from 'out of the chart'.
'Rising 31' introduces songs that have received good response from the Melon data among newly released music sources, but have not entered the chart 'Top 100'.
By analyzing big data such as daily usage and search fluctuation patterns of recently released music sources, 31 music sources are automatically selected and updated daily.
In accordance with the purpose of focusing on discovering 'new music', the song sorting order is randomly changed each time it is accessed.
'Rising 31' can be seen in the latest version of the mobile Melon app.
A Kakao official Sun said, "As a service that provides information on new music and artists loved outside the chart, you can meet a wide range of the latest music trends. We will continue to provide services that can delicately satisfy various tastes and needs."
In order to avoid ranking competition, Melon reorganized the chart in July by removing the ranking mark and counting the usage in a 24-hour cumulative unit.
