One week after RM featured on Lil Nas X’s newest remix of ‘Old Town Road’ called ‘Seoul Town Road’ the Korean Rapper broke several Spotify records.
The Song debuted at #114 on the Spotify's Global Top 200 chart, the highest entry for a Korean soloist. But it was also the biggest debut day for any Korean Soloist with 873,284 streams. The day after it was already at #14 on the chart. Currently, the song accumulated over 11,6 million streams.
RM is the first (and so far the only) Korean soloist who had multiple entries on the Global Top 200 chart, his solo 'seoul' from his sophomore album 'mono.' debuted at #197.
Now one week later and RM broke another record. With 6,362,344 monthly Spotify listeners, he has the highest peak for any Korean Soloist. Beating out the former record held by Jennie of Blackpink.
Congrats to RM for breaking all these records and we're excited to see all the new records he will break with his next release.
Seoul was one of my absolute favourite songs of last year. I'm glad to see it got the recognition it deserves. I'm really happy to see that RM is finally getting the recognition he deserves, BTS and ARMY really lucked out with our leader. 😊💜
