The new headquarters that the company will move to is the newly built building (the building currently called Yongsan Trade Center) expected to be completed by the end of this year. Big Hit and its affiliated companies will rent all from the 7th floor in the basement to the 19th floor on the ground to use.
According to Big Hit, moving to the new headquarters is a change to keep up with the expansion and addition of necessary equipment as well as the great development in the scale of human resource. It is expected to become the center of activity serving the official leap into the world's leading enterprise through solid space and physical platforms.
In particular, inside the new headquarters, it is expected to have many diverse facilities for affiliated companies with multi-label and be prepared with a special space to be able to interact with fans.
Big Hit's representative said, "We will move to the new headquarters to focus on promoting the global business as well as producing the best content. Recently, we have completed signing the rental contract of the new headquarters and plan to officially start moving soon."
Besides, Big Hit manages artists including Lee Hyun, BTS, TXT.
Note: Yongsan is close to where BTS' dorm is, so it's a convenient location for the members. Renting sounds like a rational choice given that the company is still rapidly growing since it's very expensive to purchase a building and to maintain the ownership (property taxes).
BH has recently signed the contract, and they will soon start preparations for the move. The building is to be finished in late 2019. //
