Netizens React to Yang Hyun Suk and Yang Min Suk Stepping Down from YG

After months of enduring drug scandals and accusations of gross improprieties involving fraud, prostitution and tax evasion, YG Entertainment founders Yang Hyun Suk and Yang Min Suk have stepped down from their executive positions.

Netizens reacted positively to the resignation announcements but others expressed concern about the founders still owning controlling shares of YG Entertainment and thus, retaining control over the embattled agency.

1. [+5,030, -54] I mean, duh, of course you should quit, but is he not going to go to jail?

2. [+4,410, -47] Running away?

3. [+4,157, -52] Does he think leaving will put an end to all of this? It's time to be investigated and pay the price of your crimes!

4. [+254, -3] What a weird way of phrasing things. If he's truly innocent, he should be working things out with the police, not leaving his company. That iKON kid too, does he think quitting his group will end everything? This is just the beginning ㅋㅋ

5. [+206, -2] Why is YG always cutting ties with everyone whenever something happens instead of following the legal procedures?

6. [+164, -2] What a joke! He's just going to sit in the back room and still collect all the money ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ YG is a company that needs to just disappear!!!!!!

7. [+149, -2] Artist leaves the group~ CEO retires~

8. [+131, -2] Jail him for investigation

1. [+686, -4] I don't care that they're quitting, I just care that they're properly investigated and going to jail for it

2. [+605, -6] Is there anyone stupid enough to believe all this?

3. [+534, -17] Who's CEO now? Lee Seunghoon? ㅋㅋ

4. [+52, -0] What a joke, both Yang Hyun Suk and Yang Min Suk still own all their YG stocks ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

5. [+45, -0] Leaving? More like running away, no? Obviously the police are going to help them run away from everything too.

6. [+39, -0] Either way, Yang Hyun Suk is the biggest stockholder

7. [+33, -1] ㅋㅋㅋ And what about the stocks?

8. [+23, -1] That physiognomy... gives me goosebumps

1. [+2,004, -14] Hey Yang CEO, you need to clean up your own sh*t before you go

2. [+1,134, -15] YG's still so powerful... the top news rankings are dominated by Ryu Dam's divorce and Yoochun's drag scandal ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ YG's news is at the very bottom

3. [+761, -11] What is retiring going to solve? ㅎㅎㅎ And is trash Seungri ever going to jail?

4. [+519, -6] While Daesung and Taeyang have been in the army, their team has gone to sh*t, their company has gone to sh*t...

5. [+435, -7] Don't think that quitting will bury anything. Get investigated, stand in court, and pay the price for every crime you've done!

1. [+827, -26] This is all talk, he still holds all his stocks ㅋ

2. [+598, -18] Truly quitting would mean giving up all your stock. And if none of this is true like they claim, then why not take legal action? Why quit instead?? Don't hold back if you're truly innocent, go and take legal action! Why would you quit over this? Think of all the legal action threats you made in the past... why won't you do it? Why??

3. [+331, -6] Both of them are a joke

4. [+236, -3] Aigoo, the two of them own so much of YG's stock ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ as if anyone would believe this

5. [+126, -2] 'Pretending' to resign

Given how YG-related news is pretty much the top trending topic of every entertainment portal, I'd say Naver's still protective of their 9.14% stake investment. Media play much?

It's still a looong looooong way for justice to be served - if it ever will - given their powerful police/political connections and media/conglomerate alliances.

You can tell how much people are invested by how many men are commenting. Usually, it's mostly women when it's about Kpop-related issues, but not this time.
