Kim Root reacted surprised at SEENROOT's disbandment news.

On May 1, SEENROOT's agency announced the duo decided to walk their own paths following their contract termination.

Vocalist Shin Hyun Hee personally wrote to fans about SEENROOT's disbandment on her Instagram and shared she will be promoting as a solo artist Shin Hyun Hee from now on.

여러분 안녕하세요 현희입니다 🐰 오랜만에 올리는 글인데 , 가볍지만은 않은 글이 될것 같습니다. 스물하나에 시작하여 지금까지 늘 저의 또다른 이름이자 팀이었던 ‘신현희와김루트’ 가 계약해지로 인하여 각자의 활동을 하기로 결정하였습니다. 신루트로 활동하면서 정말 많이 웃고 울고 모든 희노애락을 다 경험한것 같은데, 이런 소식을 갑작스레 전하게 되어 굉장히 안타깝고 아쉽습니다. 신루트를 늘 아끼고 사랑해주셨던 많은 팬분들과 사랑하는 큐리프리리 그리고 도움을 주셨던 많은 분들께 정말 감사드립니다. 또한, 저는 앞으로 ‘신현희’로 계속 음악활동을 이어나갈것이며 , 혼자일 제가 조금은 걱정도 되고 내가 잘 할수있을까 하는 생각에 막연히 두렵기도 하지만, 늘 그래왔듯 노래 만들고 부르는것이 저에게는 가장 행복한 일이기때문에 있는 그대로 모든 무대에서 최선을 다 할 예정입니다. 부디 새로운 저의 시작에 많은 힘을 실어주세요🙇🏼‍♀️🙏🏻찬란하고 아름다웠던 잊지못할 신루트의 시간들을 만들어주셔서 너무나 감사드립니다.

Fellow member Kim Root seemed to have not been aware of the disbandment as he expressed frustration on his Instagram. He stated,

"Our contract with the agency has been terminated but I was waiting to greet fans as SEENROOT sometime in the future. I wanted to say that rather than disbanding, we will temporarily walk our individual paths and come back. However, I'm a bit baffled by the news stating SEENROOT is disbanding. As I was receiving treatment for my anxiety disorder and depression, I was looking forward to the day we will be performing, but I can no longer look forward to that. I'm very regretful and sorry to my fans." He ended the post, stating, "Please give much support to singer-songwriter Shin Hyun Hee who will be promoting solo."

안녕하세요. 김루트입니다. 먼저 저희 신현희와김루트 음악을 좋아해주신 모든 분들에게 죄송스럽다는 말을드리고 싶네요. 저는 소속사와 계약만료가 되었지만 신현희와김루트로 언젠가 다시 또 여러분들을 만나길 기다리고 있었습니다. 해체라는 말보다는 잠시 각자의 길에서 활동을 하다 다시 돌아온다는 말을 하고싶었습니다. 그런데 갑작스러운 기사를 접하고 신현희와김루트가 해체한다는 말에 조금 당황스러운 입장입니다. 공황장애와 우울증 등으로 치료받으면서 공연 할 날을 기다렸엇는데 이제는 기다릴수 없게 되어 아쉽고 팬분들에게 정말 죄송한 입장입니다. 그리고 솔로 활동을 시작하는 싱어송라이터 신현희에게 많은 응원 부탁드립니다.

That's really a shame. I hope there was miscommunication between the label and artist[s] rather than the label just not caring what the artists' thoughts were. Hopefully he gets better and can perform again!
