On April 17, RM opened up about the pressure and fear that came along with BTS' immense success at the Seoul press conference for their new album 'Map of the Soul: Persona.'
The leader of BTS confessed there were moments he became afraid. He said, "I think stepping higher is similar to how the shadow gets longer as you grow taller. One day, I was even afraid of the lights. There were times when I was afraid of the audience. I couldn't see them but they could see me so well."
He continued, "But what I want to achieve is greater than the fear, and the energy from our fans is greater than my wish to run away." With honesty, RM confessed, "I don't think I can overcome it so I just live embracing it. I am balancing out pressure and responsibility."
RM also said, "The numbers and things we hear feel so big. Of course, I enjoy it with a happy mind. But I also try not to worry and get tied down about the big stages too much. I believe we're already achieving things too big for our plates. We encourage one another and feel happy but we're also holding on well."
RM,
Armys are also feeling pressured now. I am not sure for the next album how are we going to top over PERSONA sales in hanteo and gaon :D
But as you said, 'we're already achieving things too big for our plates'. I think there is nothing more for BTS to prove. We just wanted you guys to enjoy making music and we will continue enjoying your masterpieces. Rest well boys, and always remember that ARMY love you.
