On the afternoon of April 11, representatives from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Office held a press conference to provide updates in the ongoing investigation revolving around the distribution of illegal sexual content via social platforms.
According to police, former F.T. Island member Jonghun, singer Roy Kim, and singer Eddy Kim, and 2 other members of Jung Joon Young's chat room will be forwarded to prosecution with charges of illegal content distribution via social platforms, as violations of South Korea's laws against sexual harassment. The 5 individuals face prosecution without detention for: Jonghun - 1 case of filming illegal hidden camera footage plus 5 cases of sharing illegal sexual content; Roy Kim - 1 case of sharing illegal sexual content; Eddy Kim - 1 case of sharing illegal sexual content.
After questioning singer Roy Kim for approximately 4 hours on April 10, police found no additional charges applicable against the star.
With the above 5 cases forwarded to prosecution, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Office's investigation revolving around singer Jung Joon Young's controversial Kakao chat rooms will officially come to a close.
