INFINITE's Sungyeol left a handwritten letter to fans before his upcoming military enlistment.
On March 22, Sungyeol shared a photo of himself sporting a military cut along with a sweet letter to fans on Instagram. He wrote:
"Hello, this is INFINITE's Sungyeol. I'm writing this letter because I thought it was the right thing to do for me to speak to you through a handwritten letter.
I'm going to the army on March 26! You probably knew that since yesterday, and you were surprised, right? I'm sure there are some who are worried about me, but you don't have to worry. I'm confident I can do well.
We're in our ninth year since I debuted under the name INFINITE in 2010 and greeted you all, and we've been through a lot of stuff since then, right? The day our INSPIRIT got your name, our first fan meeting, our first music show win, and our first concert! I'll hold all of these happy memories I made with you all in my heart and be healthy while I'm there!
To be honest, it hasn't really hit me yet. I'm not used to having short hair, and I still feel awkward about it. Both you and I will get used to it though, right? I'm going to miss you a lot.
The love I've received from all of you is precious and irreplaceable. INSPIRITS, who I wouldn't trade for the world, thank you so much for always being by INFINITE's side, and I love you.
I really will stay healthy, while I'm there in the army. So our INSPIRITS, you should also do your best, stay healthy, and have fun in your respective places, okay? Promise!
P.S. Only worry about me a little bit. If you worry about me too much, I'm going to stay in the army."
Sungyeol is officially enlisting for his mandatory military service on March 26. He's the second INFINITE member to serve following Sunggyu, and Dongwoo is expected to enlist this spring as well.
