The representatives of 'Comedy TV's 'Delicious Guys' have apologized to the public.
On March 1, the cast of 'Delicious Guys' delivered a special episode with a theme of Japanese home-style cooking. However, the episode had caused an uproar, as March 1 observes the national Independence Movement Day of Korea (originally called 'Samiljeol' or the 'March 1st Day').
As this historical movement is one that celebrates Korea's significant move towards independence from Japan's colonial invasion, the Korean public collectively voiced that the program's failure to consider the nation's history was a politically unfitting one.
To this regard, the producers drew up an apology statement:
"As we celebrate this year's meaningful March 1st, we, 'Comedy TV', have showcased an inappropriate episode that has caused a great deal of disturbance to our viewers. In preparing a popular program, we did not take much detail into consideration.
To all viewers of 'Comedy TV', as well as to the viewers who have loved 'Delicious Guys', we, as a 'Comedy TV' team, bow our heads down and convey our deepest apologies. Furthermore, we also apologize to all staff members as well as to the casts who might have received damage from this incident. We will never repeat the same mistake twice and try to present the best kind of healthy laughter to you all in the future as 'Comedy TV'.
Thank you."
In other news, the March 1st Korea's Independence Movement Day of this year marks the Independence Movement's 100th year since its movement in 1919.
The PD needs to take a break and go on vocation.
