Ah yes, it just seems YG's priority group is once again on top. While most ARMY's admit confusion (and some angry) at Blackpink being called the 'next BTS,' some ARMY's have found out a secret that might bring down how truthful YG ent is.
While it is quite the fact that YG puts out all of their videos under the 'People and Blogs'* category to boost popularity, it seems as if that is not the only thing the category provides. Videos under 'People and Blogs' do not need to be viewed the entire length for the view count to go up. This explains why DDu Du DDu Du has surpassed BTS' DNA for highest viewed group K-pop music video.
While the music video in question is no longer 'People and Blogs' category, other songs of theirs are still, such as 'Boombayah,' 'Whistle,' 'Stay' and 'As If It's Your Last.' The only official music videos under the category 'Music' are 'DDu Du DDu Du' (previously under 'People and Blogs' and Jennie's 'Solo.'
Passionate fans of Blackpink, Blinks have risen to state that while it is a terrible way to get views, Youtube doesn't delete their views as it has with other BTS music video views.
* The whole reason why the view fraud is such a big deal (not to do with popularity, or which group is better, or which fandom is salty) it is because music shows count a fraction of points based on views alone.
It’s not against the rules. Stop being petty, stop being salty. Support your faves and move on. You’re just making us ARMY look bad like all we care about is views. You’re forgetting one thing, the music. It’s about the music!! Who cares if DDD passed DNA? It doesn’t matter, they’re both amazing bops regardless of views.
God, ffs.
