BTS's international fans have come together to sponsor the Korean non-profit House of Sharing on behalf of the elderly 'comfort women' victims of the Japanese occupation.
According to a representative from House of Sharing, the sponsorship began on November 16, and in the past three days, over 100 of BTS's foreign fans have raised 2 million won (roughly $1,800 USD) for the organization.
So far, those who have made sponsorship donations include fans from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Poland, Austria, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia, Uruguay, and Costa Rica.
"This project is not simply just a sponsorship project," the House of Sharing added. "It also serves the purpose of remembering the strife of comfort women and the history of the Japanese occupation."
