Cosmic Girls' Meiqi and Xuanyi have left the Chinese 'Produce 101' group Rocket Girls.
On August 9, Cosmic Girls' Chinese agency Yuehua Entertainment announced the two members, who ranked in 1st and 2nd place on the Chinese version of 'Produce 101', have officially left the project group Rocket Girls. The label explained, "We believe the unreasonable and unmanageable schedule arrangement will cause mental stress and physical harm to our artists. It's also made it impossible for us to ensure that our artists are able to take sufficient breaks."
Previously, the Chinese company behind 'Produce 101' Tencent claimed Meiqi and Xuanyi would be promoting with Rocket Girls for 2 years, while Yuehua Entertainment and Starship Entertainment stated the two 'Produce 101' contestants would promote in both the Rocket Girls and Cosmic Girls. However, Tencent rejected the request, and on August 7, Yuehua sent a statement to Tencent announcing Meiqi and Xuanyi will not promote with the Rocket Girls.
