Kim Jong Kook revealed he won against gang members.
On the July 18 airing of KBS Cool FM's 'Kim Seung Woo and Jang Han Joon's Mr Radio', Kim Jong Kook joined as the special DJ.
During the show, Kim Jong Kook was asked about his fight stories. The singer commented, "We shouldn't talk about things that encourage violence. In the old days, you called it an argument. It's too much to call it a fight but more like a dispute. Acts of building a friendship. You become close in the (disputing) process and I did become close with many of my peers that way."

When asked about the last time he got into a fight, Kim Jong Kook answered, "It was after I became a celebrity. The people that I fought were people of the underworld - the ones with tattoos. It was late at night and they picked a fight with me."
He added, "I won. I've never said this anywhere but I told them, 'Let's fight one-on-one like men. Let's pick a place', and then they just ran away. They're probably embarrassed if they're listening to the radio now."
