On May 7, Cube Entertainment founder Hong Seung Sung addressed fans with a letter regarding his vision for Cube artists, in light of the upcoming '2018 United Cube' concert on June 16.
The Cube founder/CEO is known to be suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease since his diagnosis 6 years ago. He said, "It's already been 6 years since I've become a patient with an incurable disease. Among each of the little miracles which occur in every day life, there's no way that your love you send toward me isn't a great miracle. Watching the entertainment industry change over the course of 6 years, I felt conflicted over numerous emotions. But I gained hope once again after seeing BTS's worldwide success, and the fruit of Yoong Jong Shin's skilled musical talents - watching the way these artists persevered in their paths."
Hong Seung Sung continued, "I would like to help the buds of that hopeful seed come up, with you all. That hopeful seed is more than sufficient as evidence for the hope of Cube artists."
The CEO then detailed how despite his disease, he has worked with CLC, Pentagon, Lai Kuan Lin, Yu Seon Ho, and (G)I-DLE through video chats in order to give birth to those new groups. He also thanked his older 2nd generation artists - HyunA, BTOB, and Jo Kwon - for being at the head of the label and for leading their hoobaes.
Espressing his joy at the positive response CLC, Pentagon, and (G)I-DLE were able to receive recently, Hong Seung Sung finally asked fans to join Cube Entertainment artists for '2018 United Cube', and added on "As much as you've done so up until now, I ask once again for you to send your abundant love and attention toward all of Cube's actors, actresses, and artists. Thank you."
