On December 15 (KST), actor Lee Seung Gi along with the rest of the cast of 'Hwayugi' gathered for the drama's press conference.

During the presentation, Lee Seung Gi explained why he chose to take on a role in the upcoming drama. He said, "When I first received the Hong sisters' script for 'Hwayugi', I had a lot of fun reading it. Also, I enjoyed and liked the fact that they changed the concept of 'Journey to the West' into our style." He continued, "I really wanted to work with director Park Hong Kyun at least once so being able to join this collaboration, there's big expectations. I'll do my best to not disappoint anyone by producing great work."
