EXO's Kai explains why he decided not to go by his legal name Kim Jong In as an actor

EXO's Kai explained why he kept his stage name while promoting as an actor.


Usually, many idols decide to use their legal name when shifting gears into acting. Fellow EXO member D.O. is an example as he goes by the name Do Kyung Soo as an actor. 


Kai, who's playing his first lead role in upcoming KBS drama 'Andante', has decided not to follow the trend of using the legal name for his acting career. At the press conference for the drama on September 19, he provided an explanation for this decision.

Kai stated, "Kim Jong In or Kai, it's not very important. I started promoting with the name Kai so I just believe it's right to also make my acting debut as Kai."


The first episode of 'Andante' starring Kai and Kim Jin Kyung is airing on September 24.
