After the controversy, MBC issued an apology to international fans for their mistakes, and the drama came to a wraps this past August 24. Lead male actor Shin Sung Rok held an interview with media outlets in light of his drama coming to an end, where he personally apologized for the past controversy regarding Islam culture.

Shin Sung Rok said, "I feel apologetic [about the issue]. I am also at fault for remaining ignorant about it. The whole issue occurred because we were all ignorant. It was not something done with any ill intention at all. It was pure ignorance. Please forgive us."

Meanwhile, Shin Sung Rok received praise for his comedic acting on 'Man Who Dies to Live', shedding his more serious, cold-city-man image.
