Reaching its highest ratings at 5%, 'Tunnel' follows the story of protagonist Park Kwang Ho (played by Choi Jin Hyuk) who was trying to solving a murder case in 1986 when he travels through time and ends up in present day 2017. Meeting his new crew, Park Kwang Ho goes on to solve the haunting case from 30 years ago.
It has been reported that the reason for the break was to heighten the quality of the addicting series. Since the second half will contain many crucial scenes, the staff agreed to pause the show to focus working on the main sequences.
The previous 12 episodes will be recapped back to back in 'Tunnel's original time slot.
