"I kept debuting as a girl group member but failed miserably. Then my representative suggested I try out as a trot singer, but I really didn't want to at first," explained Hong Jin Young.

She continued, "When I would show up at music programs all the other people were idol stars whereas I was the only trot singer. I was all alone."

Hong Jin Young then shed tears, saying, "It was really hard for me as a rookie." In regard to her prickly character as seen on television, the singer commented, "I tried so hard to make it to the top but instead I was rattled with negative feedbacks." She added, "I would cry every night once I got home."

However, "I really wanted to become a singer so I didn't want to give up," she mentioned receiving much support from her fellow members.
