The rapper began, "Our household wasn't well-off. I was the winner on 'Show Me the Money 1.' I thought things would go uphill from there but the company I joined right afterwards was a startup, and it couldn't do anything for me. So I told them that I would leave after paying the penalty for breach of contract, but that fee turned out to be 200 million KRW (~$179,180 USD). At the time, I've never earned more than 1 million KRW (~$895 USD) in a month."

LOCO continued, "But that's when I was introduced to GRAY and Jay Park. Jay said he'd cover [the penalty] for me. In return, Jay said he wanted me to join his company so we could make music together. He basically lent me money. And the track I released right after [joining AOMG] was 'Hold Me Tight.' So I paid the money back with [the money I made from 'Hold Me Tight']."
