On this day, the students had planned to meet with the president of the school to work out a feasible solution for the issue at hand. However, the president was nowhere to be seen even as the hour of the meeting drew near. Instead, around 1,600 police officers were dispatched to the scene of the protest.
Despite the presence of law enforcement officials, the students remained peaceful, declaring that they possessed every right to hold a protest in their own school building as long as they remained orderly and non-violent. At one point (around the 4:05 mark in the clip above), the girls even start singing Girls' Generation's "Into the New World" as part of their demonstration.
Thumbs up to these girls for standing their ground and taking an active approach to affect change around their school!
