Junhyung detailed the recording process of B2ST's comeback track "Ribbon" during a recent interview session with My Daily.
Junhyung, who took charge of directing the album recording process, had requested the members for a "very serene and neat style of singing," almost like they're just talking. Junhyung explained his reasoning behind asking for this specific singing style, saying, "I believe when you're trying to deliver a melancholic message through music, it actually causes an adverse effect the deeper the melancholic mood or appeal is. I thought that if you tell a really sad story with no feeling, then that sadness will be intensified; thus, I tried to direct [the members] to sing in a way that is light, clean, and calm."

Junhyung also mentioned where he derived the inspiration for "Ribbon," revealing, "It's been so long since I felt the feeling of breakup. Because I couldn't think of any recent experiences in that aspect, I tried to earn inspiration through talking to people or through movies and dramas. Recently, I got inspiration from watching 'Oh Hae Young Again.' I think I will be writing many songs."
