The answer to the above question is a resounding "Yes" for 7 out of 10 Korean people.
Yonhap News reported on a recent online opinion poll by realmeter, in which people of all ages from all over South Korea were asked whether Park Tae Hwan should be allowed to participate in the upcoming Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
A total of 70.9% of the people surveyed either 'strongly agreed' (42.0%) or 'agreed' (28.9%) that Park should be given a second chance. On the other hand, only about 21.7% of people either 'disagreed' (15.2%) or 'strongly disagreed' (6.5%) on letting Park enter the Summer Olympics. 7.4% of people had answered, 'not sure.'

Broken down even further into age group and gender, older people and females generally seemed to prefer for Park Tae Hwan to participate in the Summer Olympics. 82.8% of people in their 60's, 76.9% in their 50's, 74.2% in their 40's, 63.2% in their 30's, and 52.3% in their 20's agreed that Park Tae Hwan should participate. 74.1% of women, as compared to 67.6% of men wanted to give Park Tae Hwan another opportunity.
