A mother who regularly beat her nine-month-old triplets until one of them died was brought under custody of the authorities.
The Supreme Prosecutors' Office of the Republic of Korea revealed on Tuesday that they have arrested a woman identified as 'A' for throwing a handball-sized plastic toy at her baby based on the reason that she couldn't stand her wailing. The throwing of the toy had resulted in severe head injuries which ultimately led to the baby's death.
'A' was found to have been in the habit of using her fist to hit her children's heads and sides.
'A's husband knew of 'A's abuse toward the children yet neglected the situation altogether, only immersing himself in playing video games and smoking in the house.
Last month on January 18, 'A' who couldn't withstand the crying of one of her triplets, threw a plastic toy ball that weighed 656g (~1.45 lbs) at her head. The young child after suffering severe head injuries from the ball, died 20 days afterwards.

The prosecution proceeded to charge 'A' for violating the laws related to child abuse. However, they only placed 'A's husband under probation as he didn't have any direct involvement in the abuse and is currently reflecting deeply on himself.
