A capture of the notice on the Big Hit website, which was shared by the netizen, reads, "According to the Hanteo Chart which was announced on December 7, BTS recorded preliminary album sales that surpassed 86,000 copies. Using the preliminary sales as the main criteria, among the albums released in 2015, BTS comes in right behind EXO who recorded first and second places respectively. The group that's behind EXO and BTS is SHINee. With this feat, BTS became the sole non-SM group to raise their name in the top five in terms of preliminary album sales."
The netizen who posted this capture wrote, "First of all, congrats [to BTS] for selling 86,000 copies in preliminary album sales! I usually listen to BTS songs and viewed them with no animosity but after reading [the notice] on the official page, I felt it was unbelievable so I wrote this post. I know it's really big deal that their preliminary sales were good kekekeke but isn't it out of line to mention EXO on their homepage like that?"
Some of the comments on this post go, "The preliminary sales record is not what's important, the real problem is that they mentioned an outside artist on their homepage. kekekekekeke like they superseded EXO kekekekekekekekeke," "[Whoever wrote this] on the homepage has no common sense. Don't they know about EXO's preliminary and first edition album sales as well?" and many comments which express the opinion that this post is not worth fighting over. They read, "EXO-Ls, sorry..just overlook the ignorance...I have no answer for this...and EXO and BTS have a good relationship so let's no fight...I will bring this up to Big Hit. Sorry once again EXO-Ls ??," "Big Hit needs to be called out. I don't think it's right for EXO and BTS to curse each other. I hope there are no fan wars because of this," and, "They purposefully made a big issue. We don't think we surpassed EXO, nor will we surpass them. EXO, we support you for your promotions!!"
