Apparently, Yonghwa's sudden appearance on our computer screens was not an isolated incident. This specific picture has also appeared in a scene of 'She Was Pretty,' and on various Twitter login pages all over the world. So, to get down to the bottom of Twitter's mass diffusion of Yonghwa's picture, a Ten Asia reporter directly asked the social media service its intention behind the seemingly random usage of the singer's face.
A Twitter rep stated, "The background photos are random. Because Yonghwa was wearing a traditional hanbok and sported a very culturally Korean look, we decided to use the image. There are a lot of K-Pop fans on Twitter and we believed that it is a picture that is a good representation of Korea. It's a picture that hasn't only been used in Korea but also in other countries around the world."
Does Yonghwa show up on the login page in your country?
